Mendota Community Hospital’s CEO, Lynn Klein, far right, is pictured presenting Jennifer Kirsch, (second from right), Community Outreach Manager/Patient Services, for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Chicago with a check for $955.45 - money raised by the employees of MCH from Cupcakes for the Cure. 

Cupcakes for the Cure was held during the month of September, Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness Month, and was a huge success.  57 dozen specialty cupcakes, in three flavors, were pre-ordered and then baked and decorated by Blanca Zearfaus, Switchboard/Receptionist, (second from left).  Craig Smith, Occupational Therapist at MCH, far left, came up with the idea for  Cupcakes for the Cure and coordinated the event along with Blanca.  Money the LLS receives is used to provide resources & assistance for blood cancer patients and is also used to conduct research.  Many thanks to all the employees who supported such a worthwhile effort and cause.
