Klein Elected President of Statewide Rural Network

Lynn Klein, chief executive office at Mendota Community Hospital, Mendota, was elected president of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) Board of Directors at its annual meeting held in Springfield, Illinois on February 22, 2012. Klein has been actively involved in the organization since 2004, serving on the Board of Directors since 2008 and recently as its president-elect. She has served as co-chair of the ICAHN Tax Exempt workgroup, chair of its Insurance Committee and a member of the External Peer Review Advisory Committee. Executive Director Pat Schou said, “Klein has a keen understanding of the rural healthcare environment and will bring vision and energy to this key statewide leadership position. She has no doubt Klein’s willingness ?to address tough regulatory and funding issues on behalf of ICAHN and fellow critical access hospitals”.

Mendota Chamber Beautification Award
November 12, 2012
MCH has received another accolade - a special compliment from the Mendota community. On November 9, 2012 during the annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner MCH was named a co-recipient of the Beautification Award (along with First State Bank). What a tremendous honor, to be recognized by our peers, for our new hospital facility. Our building definitely is beautiful!

Dr. Steven Coventry Receives Re-Certification

Dr. Steven Coventry, one Mendota Community Hospital’s Diagnostic Radiologists from Hospital Radiology Service (HRS), recently successfully passed his re-credentialing board examination, required by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR began limiting board certification to every 10 years in 2002 for all diplomates completing residencies in that, and subsequent years. Dr. Coventry completed his residency in 2003 at OSF-St. Francis in Peoria and has been on staff at MCH since HRS began serving the hospital in 2005.
