Mendota Community Hospital Board Selects New Name

December 10, 2014 Mendota, IL – Last week the Board of Directors for Mendota Community Hospital unanimously agreed that the new name for the hospital should be OSF Saint Paul Medical Center. The name will become effective when Mendota Community Hospital officially joins OSF Healthcare System sometime in the spring of 2015 when a blessing and dedication ceremony will take place.

The most recent data shows that Christmastime toy related injuries resulted in visits to emergency rooms by 82,000 children 5 years old and younger.Supervise your child at play; Maintain their toys by checking them regularly; Select age appropriate toys.

Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board Approves COE Application

November 12, 2014 Mendota, IL – Today the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved the Certificate of Exemption (COE) application of OSF Healthcare System for a change of ownership of Mendota Community Hospital. When asked to comment on the Planning Board’s decision, Kevin Schoeplein, CEO of OSF Healthcare System stated, “We are very pleased with the Review Board’s approval of our COE application. The level of support we have received for this endeavor has been wonderful and is very much appreciated – that support had been expressed by our medical staffs, including independent physicians who serve our patients and the community and from business leaders and our elected officials. We all share a vision for the future of transforming health care to improve the lives of those we serve. ”
