KLEIN NAMED TO BOARD OF STATE-WIDE HOSPITAL NETWORK
Springfield – Kris Goodbred of Mendota, has received a special service award given by the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) at its annual business meeting in Springfield on January 29.

Lynn Klein, chief executive officer at Mendota Community Hospital in Mendota was elected to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital (ICAHN) at its annual business meeting held in Springfield on January 29, 2008. Prior to her election to the nine member CEO board, Klein has been actively involved with a number ICAHN educational programs and committees as well as instrumental in the development of the new ICAHN health insurance and benefits program specifically designed for rural hospitals and communities. ICAHN Executive Director Pat Schou is very pleased to have Klein as a new board member as she brings fresh ideas and energy along with her knowledge and experience base in hospital services. |
Klein holds positions with other state and local health organizations and has served as the CEO at Mendota Community Hospital since 2004. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Health Services Administration from University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL and has over 24 years experience in hospital administration. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Registered Health Information Administrator. Klein lives in Cherry with her husband Mike and two daughters Kailey and Brigitte.
ICAHN is a network of 50 small rural Illinois hospitals dedicated to strengthening the operations of its member hospitals through collaboration. The organization is composed of Illinois hospitals who have earned critical access hospital designation by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Aside from serving as a “trade association” for these hospitals, ICAHN is recognized as an authority on rural healthcare and administers several state, federal and private healthcare programs. The ICAHN office is located in Princeton, Illinois and serves critical access hospitals across Illinois and is a role model for other state rural health networks
