Mendota Community Hospital’s Home Health Department moved to a new location, 909 Main Street, on December 22, 2010 to make room for one of the two new physicians (Dr. Timothy Minus) who are joining the active medical staff of MCH in January.  The department’s telephone number will remain unchanged, 815-539-1421.

The hospital is expanding its services and therefore needed to add more office space to accommodate Home Health and the new physicians.

MCH’s Home Health Department is Medicare Certified and has a registered nurse on call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.  They offer a wide range of health care services (skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aides and medical social services) which are delivered at home to recovering, disabled, or chronically ill persons who live in LaSalle, Lee, Bureau, and DeKalb counties.  Generally, home care is appropriate whenever a person prefers to stay at home but needs ongoing care that can not easily or effectively be provided solely by family and friends.  Younger adults who are disabled or recuperating from acute illness are also choosing home care whenever possible.  As hospital stays decrease, there is an increasing number of patients needing the highly skilled services provided by MCH’s Home Health Department when they return home.

Stop by 909 Main Street and visit Mendota Community Hospital’s Home Health Department to meet their staff.  Home Health is excited to be in their new location and is happy to explain the services they can provide for you and your family.
